Our team had a blast celebrating their achievements at our annual summer awards party that took place on Friday 15th July at The Bentley in Liverpool. We know that our award winners celebrated in style, but we just wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the fabulous bunch of people who took home the prizes this year and why we’re so proud that they are part of Team Elite.
The first awards of the night were presented to our Technical Solutions Director, Phil Scanlon and our Platform and Dev Ops Engineer, Michael Cornthwaite, to commemorate their outstanding contribution to Elite. Their enthusiasm, experience and willingness to share knowledge makes us a better team and makes Elite a better place to work, so we were delighted to honour their leadership and performance with the Special Recognition Award.
2022 was the year we launched our new company values:
To congratulate members of our team who embodied and demonstrated these values, we created four special, employee-nominated awards for each value.
The winner of the first ‘Value’ award was our UC specialist Ryan Black, who was nominated for his consistent diligence, drive to succeed and motivated attitude. Feedback from our team highlighted his inspirational approach to work which demonstrates to the rest of our sales team and the wider business that determination and hard work creates success.
This award recognises an individual who embodies our ‘Empowered by Our Team’ value. Characteristics of this person includes, showing up for their team and colleagues, acting with empathy, a collaborative approach to work and bringing their authentic self to work every day. All of these qualities were found in our 2nd Line Assurance Engineer, Liam Southern, who took home this prize thanks to him always being on hand to support someone who needs his expertise and being an all-round team player.
As the name suggests, this award honours an individual who is humble, resilient, self-aware and treats everyone as equals. It was our Internal IT Service Engineer, Adeeb Zia, who earned this title due to always being reliable, going above and beyond the call of duty and bringing his creative mind and in-depth knowledge to solve any IT problem within the business.
Our next award recognizes an individual who embodies our Built on Trust Value and we asked our team to nominate someone who is trusted by their peers, suppliers and/or customers to continually deliver on their promises. The person they chose was our Sales Support Team Leader, Leanne Gibbons for her invaluable input within the business and the fact that, no matter how busy she is, she always makes time for each individual.
This next award highlights the new Elite employee who is considered the one to watch and is open to employees who joined Elite in the last 18 months. There were a number of strong contenders in this category, but it was Gavin Dixon who took home the prize with feedback from our team highlighting his progress that has resulted in him being the highest performing member of the service desk.
It was Nathan Fisher who cleaned up at this year’s Summer Awards. Firstly taking the Workvivo Award, which recognises an individual who has made the greatest contribution to our employee engagement platform. Based on the statistics from Workvivo, Nathan has the biggest engagement and is a social advocate for Elite within the platform. Nathan’s winning streak didn’t stop there, as he went on to scoop one of the biggest prizes of the night – Employee of the Year! Nathan achieved this award for being a true ambassador of our brand, both in the office and externally, for consistently delivering a high quality of work, making a remarkable impact in improving the culture of Elite and going above and beyond his job role.
The Team of the Year Award celebrates a team who goes the extra mile, who you can always rely on and who consistently makes an impact. It was the First Contact team who took home this award due to their impressive comradeship, leadership, commitment to the induction of new recruits and on-going training for all team members. They have become the staple for ‘what good looks like’ when it comes to looking after your people, whilst having lots of fun and working hard. They average a response time of just 6 minutes, resolving support cases in under 4 hours, on average, and have a first time fix rate of over 92%. All of this effort translates into a 97% customer satisfaction score, which shows that it’s not just us who appreciate the value First Contact brings, our customers do too!
To say we are proud of our team at Elite would be an understatement. If we could hand out awards to everyone we would! Instead, we make sure that they have a happy, appreciative working environment, with plenty of benefits, scope for progression and the support they need to reach their full potential – plus a few parties, socials and events for good measure! Sound like a place you would like to work? You’re in luck! We’re expanding our team and we have a range of vacancies waiting for you to explore in our careers hub. We hope to see you on our winners podium at the next summer awards.
