How does Ethernet First Mile Work?
Ethernet First Mile (EFM) uses a combination of Ethernet fibre and copper lines to deliver a hybrid product that offers similar benefits to an Ethernet Leased Line. Benefits include more robust SLAs and a guaranteed level of bandwidth at a lower price point and with more rapid installation.
The service is delivered over copper lines in bundles of 2 or 4 to create a single service. An on-site box then ‘bonds’ the copper lines into an Ethernet service that maintains your online presence should a copper line fail. However, some degradation of service may be noticeable.
