GMA Warehousing began trading in 1987 from a 7,000 sq ft warehouse. Quick growth and the acquisition of Ipswich Transit Express, a warehousing and distribution company, led to GMA moving to premises on Ransomes Europark in Ipswich. Since then, GMA’s progress has continued at an exciting tempo and has produced a company that now operates 250,000 sq ft of warehouse space and over 30 trucks.
GMA offers services including H.M. Customs approved warehousing, export consolidation, large distribution fleet and stock control.

Mobile phones are an essential part of GMA’s business, with staff on the road all over the country throughout the week.
Previously, GMA had bought individual mobile phones and contracts on an ad-hoc basis when they needed new ones, meaning admin staff needed to check the details of numerous different phone bills throughout the month.
Director Tony Barnes said: “As our business continued to grow and we had an increasing number of staff relying on mobile phones to keep in contact with us and our customers, it was becoming a huge administrative task each month to go through the bills to ensure we weren’t being overcharged and that they were paid on time.
Working with different providers also meant we were dealing with the full spectrum of customer service levels.”
One supplier GMA had been working with for a number of years was Elite and when account manager Darren Mitchell visited the site recently to review its current phones and contracts, he suggested moving over mobiles from other suppliers as and when they are out of contract.
Tony said: “We currently deal direct with EE and O2 as well as Elite but were keen to work with just one supplier to simplify things. Out of the companies we currently deal with it made sense to make Elite our preferred supplier, because with them we get one dedicated account manager who will always get back to us about our queries very quickly. It also means we will be able to view all of our bills online in one place, making it much simpler to keep track of our spending.”
Tony is currently working with Darren to add new phones to their account as old contracts expire. Tony concluded: “Working with Elite is great for us as a business because they have the same passion for customer service as we do; I know exactly who I am dealing with each time I get in touch and whenever I send an email asking a question I get a very quick reply.”
